HOWTO-1449: Change Location of Temporary Files

PrintShop Mail uses the default temporary folder as set by your operating system. In order to modify where PrintShop Mail stores its temporary files, then, you need to on the OS level which will affect all your applications.

Windows XP: 

  1. Go to Start, then click on Control Panel (you may have to go in Settings first)
  2. Make sure you see all the icons by clicking on "Switch to Classic View" on the left if you see it.
  3. Double-click on the System icon.
  4. Go in the Advanced tab
  5. Click on Environment Variables.
  6. Change the "TMP" or "TEMP" environment variable.
  7. Click OK on all windows
  8. Restart your computer.

Make sure the new temp folder exist first, or create it!

Windows Vista / 7 / 2008

  1. Click Start.
  2. Right-click on "Computer" on the right column, then click Properties
  3. In the Basic Computer Information window, click on "Advanced System Settings" on the left.
  4. If you get a "User Account Control" dialog, click Yes.
  5. Go in the Advanced tab
  6. Click on Environment Variables.
  7. Change the "TMP" or "TEMP" environment variable.
  8. Click OK on all windows
  9. Restart your computer.
