Managing Email Suppression Lists
A suppression list is a collection of email addresses that unsubscribed from mailings related to specific companies, brands or products. Suppression lists ensure that marketers remain compliant when sending third party promotional messages. The Suppression Lists table provides the following information and options:
- List Title: Displays the name of the suppression list.
- Last UnsubCentral Synchronization: Indicates the last day and time the suppression list synched with the your UnsubCentral list, if applicable. For more information on UnsubCentral, please visit https://www.unsubcentral.com.
- Edit: Allows you to edit the list’s properties, including the list name and UnsubCentral synchronization settings.
- Preview: Provides the total number of subscribers on the suppression list.
- Export: Allows you to download the plain text and MD5 hashed versions of the email addresses on the suppression list
- Delete: Allows you to delete suppression lists.
Users may also manage their suppression lists with the following List Options:
- Merge Lists: Allows you to move a group of addresses from one list into another, excluding duplicate records.
- Dedupe Lists: Removes records from one list who also appear on a second list.
Tip: you can also enable a feature that automatically adds suspected bots to a suppression list based on:
-
The ratio of suspicious to non-suspicious clicks.
-
The period over which the ratio is calculated.
-
The length of time the recipient stays in the suppression list.
