Set up Sub-Administration Permissions

In PowerSteering, Administrators are able to assign sub-Administrators to work templates, metric templates, tags, custom fields, Dashboard layouts, Executive Review layouts, Financial Review layouts and Field Management. Once assigned as a sub-Administrator, the user will be able to create new items and edit and delete items for which they have been assigned as an Administrator.

1. Click Define Categories

  1. On the Icon Bar click the Admin button.
  2. Click Permissions to expand the menu, then click Defaults.

2. Select Contexts

  • Select Contexts from the drop-down menu.

3. Click Add Category Column

  • Click Add category column.

4. Enter Category Information

  1. Enter information for sub-administration category.
  2. Click Add.

Name: The name of the permission category.

Permission Targets: Defines which permission target type the new category will be added to.

Description: Text that describes the permission category's purpose (optional).

Display Sequence: A number that defines where the category column will appear in relation to other user-defined categories.

5. Select Administration Permissions

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the Context permissions.
  2. Select the check boxes for one or more of the administration permissions under the Sub-Administrators column.
  3. Click Update.

6. Click Defaults

  1. On the Icon Bar click the Admin button.
  2. Click Permissions to expand the menu, then click Defaults.

7. Select Contexts

  • Select Contexts from the drop-down menu.

8. Click Add Role

  • Click Add role.

9. Select Group/User

  1. Search for and select a group or user that you want to assign sub-Administrator permissions to.
  2. Click Save.

10. Assign Permissions

  1. For the role you just created, select the radio button that corresponds to the permission category you created in Step 4.
  2. Click Save.

Note: All members of the Sub Admin Group now have the Work Template Administration, Metric Template Administration, Tag Administration, Custom Field Administration, Dashboard Layout Administration, Executive Review Administration, Financial Review Administration, and Field Management Administration permissions.
