Project Central Column Options
Within Project Central there is tremendous flexibility to add, remove, and rearrange columns.
1. Project Columns
Name |
The work's name. |
Warning |
A yellow flag will display in this column when there are warnings on work items. Hover over the yellow flag to view warning information. |
Owner |
The name of the user assigned as the work's owner. |
Documents |
The number of documents for the work. |
Priority |
The work's priority. |
Status |
The work's status. |
Percent Complete |
The percent complete for the work. |
Active Gate |
For gated work, the name of the work's active gate. |
Is Critical Path |
A yes/no display that indicates whether a work item's scheduling directly impacts the end date of the master work item. |
Dependency |
The line number of the items that need to be completed before the work can begin. |
Req. Delivs. |
For gated work, a yes/no display that indicates whether a work item has required deliverables. |
Master Project |
The work that a task belongs to. |
Top Project |
The highest level work that a task belongs to. |
2. Roles
The column selections available under this menu item will vary based on the roles that you have configured for your site. When a role column is added, PowerSteering will display the name of the user associated with that role on the work.
3. Dates
Schedule Type | Identifies whether the work is scheduled using the scheduler or if the start and end dates are manually scheduled. |
Manual schedule dependent works | A yes/no display that indicates whether lower work will inherit the manual scheduling. |
Constraint type | The work's constraint type. |
Planned/Constraint | The work's planned/constraint start and end dates and the planned/constraint duration. Note: The maximum planned/constraint duration allowed in PowerSteering is 10,000 days. |
Actual | The work's actual start and end dates and the actual duration. |
System/Scheduled | The work's system/scheduled start and end dates and the system/scheduled duration. |
Latest | The work's latest possible start and end dates. |
Baseline | The work's baseline start and end dates and the baseline duration. |
4. Resource
Is Default | For work with more than one resource assignment, "Yes" in this column indicates that the role assigned should be the role used to determine the rate for users who enter time against the work but are not allocated to the work. Note: This feature is not currently operational. |
Duration | The number of days it will take to complete the work. |
Effort | The number of hours it will take to complete the work. |
Effort % Complete | The effort percent complete for the work. |
% Allocation | The percentage of time that is available to work on the work. |
Assignments | The name of the user assigned to the work. |
Role | The role assigned to the work. |
Resource Pool | The name of the resource pool that is assigned to the work. |
Assigned | The names of all users assigned to the work. |

The column selections available under this menu item will vary based on the tags that you have configured for your site.

The column selections available under this menu item will vary based on the custom fields that you have configured for your site.
7. Controls
Note:
Many of the column selections under this menu item are available only when specific modules are enabled for your site. Contact your PowerSteering Success Manager for more information.
Note: Editing many of these are handled by the Project Permissions permission. Items marked with an asterisk (*) are included. Changing permissions can only be completed by a PowerSteering Administrator.
Currency | The currency for the work's locale. |
* Inherit Cost Setting | A yes/no display that indicates whether the work inherits the cost setting from the parent work (if applicable). |
* Control Cost | A yes/no display that indicates whether the Costs menu option will appear under the Project button on the Icon Bar. Note: This option is only available if Inherit cost setting is set to "No". |
Inherit Activity Types | A yes/no display that indicates whether the work inherits all activity types from the parent work (if applicable). |
All Activities | A yes/no display that indicates whether all activities were included for the work. |
Activity Types | The activity types for the work. |
Inherit Default Activity | A yes/no display that indicates whether the work inherits the default activity from the parent work (if applicable). |
Default Activity | The default activity value for the work. |
* Inherit Permissions | A yes/no display that indicates whether the work inherits all permissions from the parent work (if applicable). |
* Inherit Calendar | A yes/no display that indicates whether the work inherits the calendar from the parent work (if applicable). |
Calendar | The resource calendar for the work. You will not be able to edit this option if Inherit Calendar is set to "Yes". |
Status Reporting | The status reporting frequency for the work. |
* Plan Resources | A yes/no display that indicates whether Resource Planning is enabled for the work. |
Include Action Items | A yes/no display that indicates whether action items are included in Resource Planning. |
Inherit Personal Rate Rule | A yes/no display that indicates whether the work inherits the personal rate setting from the parent work (if applicable). |
* Personal Rate Rule | If Inherit Personal Rate Rule is set to "No", a yes/no display that indicates whether the work considers the personal rates of the assigned users. |
* Inherit Rate Table | A yes/no display that indicates whether the work inherits the rate table setting from the parent work (if applicable). |
* Rate Table | If Inherit Rate Table is set to "No", the rate table from which the work should retrieve hourly rates. |
Advance on Any Approval | A yes/no display that indicates whether all users assigned to an approval role need to approve a gate before the project can advance. This setting applies only to gated projects and gates with more than one user assigned to roles mapped as approvers. |
Restrict Time Entry to Assignees | A yes/no display that indicates whether or not time entry for the work is restricted to only users assigned to the work. |
Allow Time Entry | A yes/no display that indicates whether or not that work allows time entries against it. |
