Setting Up Invoice Workflow Roles
PSA's Invoice module, as with the other modules, is based on the concept of workflows, where all invoices proceed through defined steps and adhere to the approval process in place, as determined by the master administrator.
To ensure that the steps are followed appropriately, the module uses the concept of invoicing roles. An invoicing role is a role or title assigned to a user for the purpose of acting on an invoice, whether it be submitting, approving or reimbursing.
In other words, roles determine who can access, view and modify invoices throughout the invoice workflow. For example, standard users are most often involved in submitting or viewing invoices, while managers are responsible for approving or rejecting those invoices.
Once roles are defined, they are then assigned to users. Although the module contains pre-defined roles that are ready to use, you can also define new roles whenever the need arises.
The articles in this section explain how to set up invoice workflow roles, assign user permissions, and manage invoice processing steps within the Invoice module.
