Processing Overtime: Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly Rules (Legacy Timesheet)
The overtime processing option accurately records the overtime worked, ensuring it is quantified and recorded correctly, as well as adheres to compliance with industrial boards for fair employee compensation and company protection. When configuring the system, administrators define how the overtime hours worked are configured. The overtime hours worked are defined as the hours that exceed the default hours already assigned per week for work. After the Enable Overtime Policy check box is selected (Setup > Timesheet > Timesheet Templates > Timesheet Template Edit > Options tab), the overtime policy can be defined.
Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly Rules Tabs
The following settings are available on the Daily, Weekly and Bi-Weekly Accumulation Rules sub-tabs:
- The following options are common to Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly and Custom rule tabs:
- Select Add to Overtime after <x> hour(s) worked and specify the number of payable hours after which overtime starts to accumulate.
- Select Add to Double overtime after <x> hour(s) worked and specify the number of payable hours after which double overtime starts to accumulate
- Choose one of the following options, as required for the Include <No time>/<Remaining time>/<Regular time>/<Remaining time including Overtime>/<Remaining time including Double Overtime>/<Total time> from previous rule as regular time when processing this rule which specifies the number of hours from the time entry that will be taken from the previous rule when processing the current rule:
- No time: does not specify any time entry in the accumulation rule.
- Remaining time: specifies the remaining payable time in the accumulation rule, excluding any overtime or double overtime hours.
- Regular time: specifies the regular payable time in the accumulation rule.
- Remaining time including Overtime: specifies the remaining payable time, including overtime hours in the accumulation rule, but excluding any double overtime hours.
- Remaining time including Double Overtime: specifies e the remaining payable time including double overtime hours in the accumulation rule, excluding any overtime hours.
- Total time: specifies all payable time in the accumulation rule.
- Select Include Overtime from previous rule when processing this rule if the overtime accumulated from the previous rule is to be added to the overtime of the current rule.
- Select Include Double overtime from previous rule when processing this rule if the double overtime accumulated from the previous rule is to be added to the double overtime of the current rule.
