Configuring Work System Defaults (WBS)

From the Work System page, you can view and configure the default values for many of the key Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements used across the application. These Work Defaults are predefined field values that automatically populate when new objects are created or existing ones are edited. They help streamline data entry and ensure consistency, but you can override them as needed during field setup or editing.

In addition to setting Work Defaults, the System page also provides options to configure the default behavior for how Budgets are managed within Projects. These include settings related to Currency enforcement, Budget type, and validation rules to promote consistency and accuracy. While these defaults help establish a standardized approach across the organization, Project Managers can override them at the Project level to meet specific needs.

Beyond budgeting, there are additional configuration options related to Project visibility, Project Team management, Work Type definitions, and Currency handling at the Project level.

These settings help tailor the system to better match your organization’s operational and financial practices.
