Event Auditing Configuration

Event auditing is the ability to record when certain tasks and functions, known as events, are performed within Upland Qvidian. Information about the event, including who performed it and when, are displayed and tracked on the Event Auditing View page and can be exported to create a report. There are over two hundred defined events that you can monitor to track activity. For example, you can see who has created a document type, built a custom document, or opened the library.

Enable and disable events

Events must be enabled to record information. Data on past events cannot be recaptured. When you enable an event, event information is recorded. When you disable an event, event information will stop being recorded.

  1. Go to Administration > Application Settings > Event Auditing Configuration.
  2. To enable or disable a single event:
    • Hover over the desired event and click the More Options More Options menu menu. Depending on the events current state, either the Enable or Disable option will appear in the dropdown menu.
  3. To enable or disable multiple events:
    1. Select the checkboxes of the desired events.
    2. Click the More Options menu at the top of the grid.
    3. Select Enable or Disable for all selected events.
  4. To enable or disable all events:
    1. Click the More Options menu at the top of the grid or select the checkbox header at the top of the grid.
    2. Select Enable All or Disable All.

Note: When an event is enabled, a blue checkmark will appear in the row.

Update custom auditing procedure

You can specify a custom SQL database procedure used to conduct the auditing for one or more selected events. Please contact Upland Qvidian Support or Qvidian Professional Services for assistance.
