User passwords
All Upland Qvidian users must have a password to access Upland Qvidian. When setting up a new user, the administrator will not establish an initial password for the user. Instead, new users receive an email notification welcoming them to Upland Qvidian with an active link for them to set up their password, including the entry of password security question and answer in case they forget their password in the future. Administrators can control the subject line and body of the welcome email by configuring the New User Created email notification trigger. The new user is locked, and a lock icon appears next to their name, until they successfully complete their new password and security answer.
Note: You can pre-populate the login page with your username by selecting the Remember Me? check box on the login page. This function uses a cookie to store your username and it is encrypted.

Reset user password(s)
An administrator can force a user to reset their password. If the user is currently locked out, the administrator will need to unlock the log in before they can force the password reset. The user needs to know their current password and the answer to their security question to reset their password once they receive the email notification. If the user does not know their password, the administrator should re-initialize the user instead.
- Go to Administration > Users & Roles > Users.
- To reset a single user's password: Hover over the user, click the More Options
menu, and select Reset Password.
- To reset multiple users' passwords: Select the checkboxes of the users, click the More Options
menu at the top of the page, and select Reset Password.
- To reset all users' passwords: Click the More Options
menu at the top of the page, and select Reset Password.
Reset passwords by role
An administrator can reset the password for all users in one or more roles. It is recommended to perform this action when Upland Qvidian usage for the role is limited.
Note: For more information, see Manage roles.
Re-initialize a user
If a user has forgotten their password, security question and security answer, an administrator can re-initialize them which causes Upland Qvidian to send the welcome email that is sent to new users. It is important to verify that the email address is correct for the user before using this option.
- Go to Administration > Users & Roles > Users.
- To re-initialize a single user: Hover over the user, click the More Options
menu, and select Re-initialize.
- To re-initialize multiple users: Select the checkboxes of the users, click the More Options
menu at the top of the page, and select Re-initialize.
- To re-initialize multiple users: Click the
menu at the top of the page, and select Re-initialize.
