Document type categories

Document type categories can help users easily locate a document type when creating a document. Once a category has been created, it will be listed in the Document Type Properties dialog box where you can enable or disable the category for the document type.

View a category

  • Select the Category Name from the list to view the category in the right panel.

Add a category

  1. Go to Architecture > Document Type Categories.
  2. Click the + icon in the Category Name panel.
  3. Enter the Category Name in the right-hand panel.
  4. From within the Select Document Types to Include in this Category section: 
    • To search for a document type, enter text into the search box, and click the Search Search button icon or Enter.To re-display all document type, delete the entire entry in the box by clicking the X.
    • Select the checkboxes of all the document types you want to include in the category.
    • To include all document types: Click the More Options menu and select the Select All option.
    • To remove all document types: Click the More Options menu and select the Deselect All option.
  5. Click Save.

Edit a category

  1. Go to Architecture > Document Type Categories.
  2. Select the Category Name you want to edit.
  3. In the right-hand panel, edit the category as desired.
  4. Click Save to apply your changes or Discard Changes to cancel.

Delete a category

  1. Go to Architecture > Document Type Categories.
  2. Select the Category Name you want to delete.
  3. Click Delete Category. You are prompted to confirm the deletion.
