Bookmarks
Using the Bookmarks function, you can identify frequently used content that you want to quickly access without browsing or searching the library.
Bookmark a Record
- Select any content record(s) in the library.
- Click the More Options
menu.
- Select More Tools > Add Bookmark from the dropdown menu.
Note: You can also select multiple content records and bookmark them from the More Options menu below the search bar.
Access Bookmarks
You can access your bookmarks easily from anywhere in Qvidian.
- Click the Bookmark icon
, found in the header of all Qvidian pages.
Note: The library will open in a new tab and display all your bookmarked content records.
Other Actions

- Select any content record(s) in the library.
- Click the More Options
menu.
- Select More Tools > Remove Bookmark from the dropdown menu.
Note: You can also select multiple content records and remove the bookmark via the More Options menu below the search bar.

You can generate a URL for a bookmark and then copy the URL to your clipboard. Then you can paste the URL to an application for further use (for example, email body, browser address field, etc.). When the URL is clicked, the File Download dialog displays where the recipient can Open or Save the Bookmark.
Note: By default, this function is enabled via the EnableGenerateURL global setting. To disable this function, the toggle the setting "Off".
- Select any content record(s) in the library.
- Click the More Options
menu.
- Select More Tools > Generate Web URL from the dropdown menu. For more information, see Generate a URL for a content record.
Example: A Upland Qvidian Content Administrator generates the URL for a bookmark that is a sales data sheet created in Word. The Administrator copies the URL and pastes it into the body of an email to send to a prospect. The prospect clicks the URL and then opens or saves the document from the File Download dialog.
Note: To clear generated URLs and make them invalid, you must have the Manage Generated URLs application permission.

- Hover over the desired content record.
- Click the Download
icon. You will receive an email with your download.

The Preview function displays the entire contents of a bookmark. In this mode, you can perform the same actions available on the Bookmarks page. You can preview a content record using one of the following methods:
- Double-click the desired content record. The preview will open in the right side panel.
- Hover over the desired content record, click the More Options
menu, and select Open Details Panel > Preview. The preview will open in the right side panel.
- Hover over the desired content record, click the More Options
menu, and select Launch Preview in New Window. The preview will open in a new window.

- In the Search field, enter the bookmark name. As you type in the text the bookmarks matching the entry will display at the top of the grid.
