Mark Document Sections
On the Mark Document Sections dialog, you can use Advanced SmartMarking Options to mark either the header sections or the question sections in the document.
The document should not contain any bookmarks which may conflict with Upland Qvidian markings of headers, questions, answers or tables.
task 1
- Select whether the text should be marked as a header or question.
- Specify if any or all of the criteria should match, then specify the criteria.
If you selected header, specify the criteria applicable to marking header sections in the document; all other sections not matching the applied criteria will be marked as Question sections.
If you selected Question, specify the criteria applicable to marking Question sections in the document; all other sections not matching the applied criteria will be marked as header sections.- Paragraph:
- Ends with this punctuation - check the box and select the punctuation mark.
- Style name is - check the box and select the paragraph style.
- Character count is - check the box, select the value symbol, and then enter a numeric value.
- Font:
- Type - check the box and select the font type.
- Size - check the box, select the value symbol, and then enter a numeric value.
- Bold, Italic, and/or Underline - check the box(es).

- To combine consecutive header paragraph sections in the document as one record, select the header check box.
- To combine consecutive answer paragraph sections as one record, select the Answer check box.
task 3
- Indicate how text sections should be separated in the document:
- Select 1 paragraph
- Select 2 paragraph markers
- Select Numbering, in this style: and enter numbering scheme. For example, 1; 2; 3; … a, b, c, … 1.1; 1.2; 1.3; … etc.
- Click Mark when completed specifying marking criteria. The document re-displays and is automatically marked.
Note: You can still work with the document and modify markings using the available functions.
