Working With Assigned Work Process Entries

Users not only have to create new work process entries, but they also have to resolve work process entries to which they have been assigned. Users must complete the appropriate work types necessary in order to move a work process entry forward to the next state of its work process. This means that users may receive work process entries from other users who have passed the work process entry onto the current user. Work process entries in the list must be opened, completed and moved to the next state.

To open and move work process entries out of the User Work List:

  • Click the Processes tab on the Main menu.
  • In the left pane, click the Work List option to open the Work List screen. The Work List screen lists all work process entries (of any type) that have been assigned to you.
  • You may use the Search fields to locate a specific work process entry.
  • In the table below, under the Tracking # column, click the desired work process entry tracking number. This will open the Work Process Entry Edit screen.
  • If you wish to add any comments to the work process entry, enter them in the Comments field (under the General tab).
  • Once the appropriate work process entry has been completed, go to the Action drop-down list to select the next action for the work process entry. For example, if the user has worked on programming code, then the next action in the list may be “verification”.
  • Once you have selected an action, click Save. The Entry History field is automatically updated with the user’s name and the type of action that was selected. Note that you cannot edit any text in the Entry History field.
  • The user can then create any notes that relate to the work accomplished for the work process entry and add any necessary attachments.
  • Click Save and the work process entry will automatically be assigned to the person who is assigned to the next state.
  • Click Save, and then Close.
  • If the next state is not assigned to you, the work process entry disappears from the Work List screen.
