About Customizing Workflows

RuleSets offer Administrators opportunities to customize and interact with their server's workflow. For example, you can configure non-linear processing by defining the order in which rules are applied. You can also configure criteria sending or disabling user notifications.

See how below.

Defining processing order for rules

The server processes rules according to how they are arranged.

  • To move a rule up in the list, right-click the appropriate rule and select Move Up. The rule moves up the list.
  • To move a rule down in the list, right-click the appropriate rule and select Move Down. The rule moves down the list.

Adding notifications to the workflow

To enable notifications associated; for example, with a Route to Failure rule

  1. Create a Route to Failure rule.
  2. In the RuleSets, double-click the appropriate Route to Failure rule. The Rule Properties dialog box appears.
  3. In the Actions tab, select Notification {Replace job’s confirmations with:} and click Properties. The Action Properties dialog box appears.
  4. Select Replace the job’s confirmations with the following and click Add.
  5. In the Confirmation Destination screen, select Email from the confirmation destination drop-down list and type user@testdc.net.
  6. Click OK. Returning to the Action Properties screen, the user’s email now appears in the Destination list.
  7. Click OK.

Notifications are now enabled for the selected rule.
