About Notes Connector
The AccuRoute Server communicates with your Domino Server (version 5.x or 6.0) through the Notes connector. Some features associated with this connector are:
-
DID/DTMF lookup for inbound messages
-
Connector profile settings
-
One-off messages
Client applications
The AccuRoute Server supports the Notes client software, versions 5.x and 6.0.
The Notes connector setup program automatically configures the Notes server for use with AccuRoute. The setup program creates a foreign domain for Genifax and adds the necessary database templates.
Methods of sending faxes from a Notes client
There are two methods of sending faxes from a Notes client.
-
Fax Memo form - You can choose to have the Notes setup program modify the default mail template to create the Fax Memo form, which provides fax options for users to apply to the faxes they create, including cover pages, billing codes, fax preview, and approval. The Fax Memo form is optional.
-
One-off faxes - Users can send one-off faxes using the standard Notes New Memo form, but they are unable to include AccuRoute fax options such as cover pages or billing codes.
User profiles
The Notes connector supports user profiles to help you manage the availability of fax options on the Fax Memo form. You can use profiles to provide lists of fax options (cover pages, billing codes, and access codes) to users, as well as to configure default settings for the options on the Fax Memo form. Additionally, if there are certain options a user selects for all or most faxes he or she sends, user profiles enable you or the user to set these options so they are selected by default when the user opens the form.
Note: The AccuRoute Server is an enterprise application and should not be running on the same system with any of the following server applications: Active Directory, Domino Server, Exchange Server, or SQL Server.
Notes Lookup and Groups
When you create a group in Notes, you can define it as a particular type of group, such as multi-purpose, access control list only, mail only, servers only, or deny list only. When the Notes connector performs a lookup in the Notes Address Book and returns the results, you will be able to view only the multi-purpose groups and mail only groups.
