About Recipient Registrations and Routing Rules
If users in your company need to send faxes with secure delivery, you must create a series of routing rules that will route inbound recipient registrations to the Embedded Directive Manager, FaxCenter, a network printer, a directory in the local area network, or an email account of a person who can process these registrations.
Choosing methods for processing inbound recipient registrations
The first method of processing inbound recipient registrations should be the Embedded Directive Manager on the
You need to determine the secondary method your company will use for processing inbound recipient registrations when the server cannot detect the Embedded Directives in inbound recipient registrations. When you determine how these inbound recipient registrations will be processed, you must create an inbound routing rule that directs these faxes to the appropriate destination where they can be processed.
Several possibilities for a secondary method of processing inbound recipient registrations include:
-
FaxCenter - FaxCenter users can determine the sender of the inbound recipient registration and release the original outbound fax that corresponds to the registration. If you want a FaxCenter user to be able to release outbound faxes from Recipient Registration Pending, you need to configure the FaxCenter user's permissions accordingly.
-
Network printer - You can route inbound recipient registrations to a network printer where someone can retrieve them and release the outbound faxes from Recipient Registration Pending. Users can release faxes from Recipient Registration Pending from FaxCenter or from the Administrator.
-
Directory in the local area network - You can route inbound recipient registrations to a directory in your local area network so that someone can retrieve the faxes from this directory and release the original faxes from Recipient Registration Pending. Users can release faxes from Recipient Registration Pending from FaxCenter or from the Administrator.
-
Email account - You can route inbound recipient registrations to an email account associated with a person, such as a administrator, who is responsible for reviewing the inbound recipient registrations and releasing the original faxes from Recipient Registration Pending. Users can release faxes from Recipient Registration Pending from FaxCenter or from the Administrator.
Ordering the rules
When you create routing rules for inbound faxes, you must order them in the same order they should be applied. Therefore, if you want the server to detect Embedded Directives using the Embedded Directive Manager, you should order this rule above the others that would route inbound recipient registrations to other destinations.
