Configuring Attachment Merging Policy

The routing rule is where you configure the merge policy Route to Connector action. All rules with Route to Connector actions are supported, including the default rules created for connector and custom rules that are created after the Upland AccuRoute server is installed. The merge/split functionality is not applicable for messages being routed to FaxCenter, the Embedded Directive Manager, or the Lookup Manager.

To configure the attachment merging policy in a rule

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  1. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree.

  2. Expand Rules. Click Inbound/Outbound.

  3. Find and select the rule where the merge policy needs to be configured. The Create New Rule wizard appears.

  4. Go to the Specify the Actions to take for this Rule page, double-click the action where the policy needs to be set.

  5. Verify that Allow sender to override the Delivery Format is not selected. Attachment merging is not supported when the sender is allowed to override the delivery format.

  6. Click Advanced. Select Override document processing.

  7. Verify that Merge attachments is selected. Click OK. The merge order is based on the order in which the user originally added attachments to the message.

  8. Click OK and Finish to save your changes.
