Creating a Domain Windows user account
Summation uses the user's Windows account when logging in to the program. It then assigns privileges to cases based on the Windows account. Summation users will only have access to those cases that are enabled for their particular user account.
In order for Summation to integrate properly with the AccuRoute, you must create a unique Domain Windows user account to be used exclusively on the AccuRoute Server. In Summation, ensure this account has access to all Summation cases.
This account must:
-
be a dedicated AccuRoute Windows logon account
-
be exclusively used on the AccuRoute Server
-
have access to all Summation cases
-
stay logged on to the AccuRoute Server at all times
Note: The user must stay logged into the AccuRoute Server, and the Summation connector must be manually re-enabled after each server reboot.
Changing the logon account for the AccuRoute Connector Manager
In order to use Summation Web Integration, you must change the logon account for the AccuRoute Connector Manager to run using the Local System account with the ability to interact with Desktop.
Note: If you need to use a Filescan connector, change Filescan access to UNC paths to allow access to all users.
To configure AccuRoute Connector Manager permissions
-
Go to Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Services.
-
Right-click the AccuRoute Connector Manager Service and select Properties.
-
Click the Log On tab.
-
Select Local System account and then select Allow services to interact with the desktop.
-
Click OK.
-
Click OK on the message: The new logon name will not take effect until you stop and restart the service.
-
Stop and restart the AccuRoute Connector Manager Service.
Note: Important! Never open Summation on the AccuRoute Server after this configuration is complete. Doing so can interfere with the proper operation of the Summation connector and could require re-submission of jobs.
