About Filescan Connector

The Filescan connector works in conjunction with your company's Upland AccuRoute Server, providing users in your company with a method of submitting outbound documents to the server and providing your company with a method of routing inbound documents to a folder in the local area network.

Outbound documents

Your company can send documents using the Filescan connector. Outbound documents can be copied to a Filescan folder by individual users or network scanning devices.

By routinely monitoring Filescan folders in the local area network, the Filescan connector instantly detects documents and collects them. As soon as the Filescan connector collects a document from a Filescan folder, the connector interprets the control file—a simple text document that contains delivery instructions for the document—and makes this information available to the server.

Inbound documents

Your company can route inbound documents to a folder in the local area network. Using routing rules to configure this feature, you can choose any criteria for documents routed to a Filescan folder.

To access Filescan Connectors

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree.

  3. Select Connectors. The Connectors details pane lists the connectors that are licensed with your server.

  4. Double-click the Filescan connector to view its properties.
