Configuring Regular Expressions and Forms Recognition

Data Extractor Regular Expressions

You can configure the Data Extractor with Regular Expressions by using Message properties.

To configure the Data Extractor with Regular Expressions

  1. Create a new message property. (See Creating a message property.)

  2. On the Message Properties dialog box (the Property Dictionary Item dialog box), go to the General tab.

  3. In the Mappings section, select the DMS property mapping of the property.

  4. In the Automatic Assignment (Barcode Detection Component) section, go to the Regular Expressions box and type the first few letters comprising the message property name, followed by *.

For example, assume you create the message property ERID for Extensity reports. In the Mappings section, you would select a DMS property mapping for the ERID property. In the Regular Expressions box, you would enter ER*.

  5. On the Components dialog box, verify that the Data Extractor Component is enabled.

  6. On the Outbound Rules dialog box, create a new rule. Route it to the recipient where the third-party barcode documents can be specified (for example, a folder specified by the FileShare connector).

    • On the Route to connector dialog box, click Advanced to open the Advanced Routing Options dialog box.

    • Click Custom Properties > Core Properties > Add.

    • On the Custom Property dialog box add prDataExtraction in the Name box. In the Value box, type 3.

    • Save your changes.

Any scanned messages matching this rule will have preset bar code values detected and the messages will be routed to the FileShare location.
