Creating Custom Variables

You can create a custom variable by using the Server Administrator > Server, Connector, or User Profiles.

To create a custom profile

  1. Depending on the type of profile, do one of the following:

    • Server profile - Right click on the Server Name item, select Properties from the drop-down menu. Click Configure under Manage Server Profile on the General page.

    • Connector profile - Right-click on the connector in the Connectors details pane. Select Properties from the drop-down menu. Click Genifax under Manage Connector Profile on the General page.

    • User profile (Exchange 2003/Exchange 2000) -  In the Exchange System Manager snap-in, expand the Administrative Group and the Routing Group where you installed the Exchange connector, right-click on AccuRoute Connector in the Connectors details pane, select Properties from the shortcut menu, and click the AccuRoute Profiles tab.

    • User profile (Exchange 2007)

  1. Click Cover Variables.

  2. Click Add.

  3. In the Name text box, enter the name of the custom variable in all capital letters and between two percent signs (%). For example: %DIVISION_CODE%.

  4. In the Value text box, enter the value that should replace the variable for all messages to which the selected profile applies.

  5. Click OK.

  6. To add another variable repeat steps 3 to 6.

  7. Click OK on the Profile properties page to save your changes.

Note: The variables you create must appear in the appropriate notification templates for the values to be used.
