Creating Custom Variables

You can create a custom variable by using the Server Administrator > Server, Connector, or User Profiles.

To create a custom profile

Depending on the type of profile, do one of the following:
- Server profile - Right click on the Server Name item, select Properties from the drop-down menu. Click Configure under Manage Server Profile on the General page.
- Connector profile - Right-click on the connector in the Connectors details pane. Select Properties from the drop-down menu. Click Genifax under Manage Connector Profile on the General page.
- User profile (Exchange 2003/Exchange 2000) - In the Exchange System Manager snap-in, expand the Administrative Group and the Routing Group where you installed the Exchange connector, right-click on AccuRoute Connector in the Connectors details pane, select Properties from the shortcut menu, and click the AccuRoute Profiles tab.
- User profile (Exchange 2007)

Click Cover Variables.
Click Add.
In the Name text box, enter the name of the custom variable in all capital letters and between two percent signs (%). For example: %DIVISION_CODE%.
In the Value text box, enter the value that should replace the variable for all messages to which the selected profile applies.
Click OK.
To add another variable repeat steps 3 to 6.
Click OK on the Profile properties page to save your changes.

Note: The variables you create must appear in the appropriate notification templates for the values to be used.
