Notes Connector Requirements

The Notes connector requires that you do the following before installing the connector.

Install a Notes client on the AccuRoute Server system.
The user ID used to log on to this client must have an empty password. For information about installing Notes clients and setting up user IDs, see the Lotus Notes documentation.
Modify Default Notes Mail Template Permissions

The Lotus Notes Administrator has to decide if the mail template should be altered to show the AccuRoute Fax button. If the template should be altered, the AccuRoute service account should be given appropriate permissions to change the Lotus Notes template.

Once the permissions are granted, the standard Lotus Notes template will be altered during the AccuRoute Fax (formerly known as Genifax) update process.
Modify the Access Control List for the default mail template on the Domino Server.

Give the user account you use to administer the Domino Server “Manager Access” to the default mail template. This is necessary so that the AccuRoute Fax Notes setup program can make modifications to the template such as adding AccuRoute Fax-specific options. This account needs to be different from the one used to log on to the Notes client installed on the AccuRoute Server.
Designate one or two user accounts to run the Notes setup procedures.

Either one or two accounts are required to set up and run AccuRoute Fax (formerly known as Genifax) with Lotus Notes.
- If you use two accounts, one must have a password and the other must not. You will use each account at different times during the setup process.
- If you use one account, it must have a password for one step in the setup process and you must remove the password before completing the setup process. Additionally, if you use one user account, you can omit one step in the setup process.
Note: If you are using one account, it must be used with a password until just before you perform the Install the Notes Connector procedure. You can omit the Modify the Access Control List for the AccuRouteFax_Mail.box procedure.

The instructions for the Notes connector setup indicate which account you should be using to complete each step.
Run the Notes setup program on the AccuRoute Server system.
The setup program adds database templates and makes configuration changes to the AccuRoute Server.

Note: Important! If you installed the AccuRoute Server software with an AccuRoute license that did not include a Notes connector, you must prepare the AccuRoute Server before you add a Notes connector.
