You may need to create custom variables and assign custom values to them if the list of standard variables for the Upland AccuRoute server does not contain a particular variable you need to use in cover pages and notification templates. For example, some companies need to protect the identity of their employees by not using their last names in written correspondence with clients and other companies. In this case, you can create a custom variable that will display the first name of the sender on cover pages and notification templates.
You can create custom variables using profiles. Using the server, connector, or user profiles, you can define the value of a particular variable, or create a custom variable and define its value. For information on creating custom variable, see Creating custom variables.
If you want a variable to have a different meaning for each user, then you should create custom variables within the user profiles. If you want a variable to have a different meaning for a group of users, or perhaps your entire company, then you should consider using connector or server profiles to achieve this result.
