About Device Query
Administrators can query a device to ensure installation is successful and that a connection between the server and the device exists. There are other device-related tasks that you can perform by using the Server Administrator.
The following device-related tasks can be performed by using the Device Properties shortcut menu.

Properties is used to edit general and connection properties. You can use the Journal to view a history of device events, for example, configuration changes. The Journal can also be used to view the statuses of your device query and error messages for troubleshooting purposes.

Query is used to check the device installation and connection status.

Install is used to install new devices and push buttons to the devices.

Uninstall is used to uninstall devices and remove buttons from the devices.

Reboot is used to reboot devices.

Delete is used to delete a device from a device group.
Performing a Device Query
The following instructions describe how to perform a device query.
To perform a device query

Start the Server Administrator if necessary.

Expand Devices and select the appropriate device group. The Device details pane appears.

Right-click the device you want to query. The Properties shortcut menu appears.

Select Query. A status message appears in the Device details pane.
Note: Use the Properties shortcut menu to perform other device-related tasks as needed.
