About SMTP Connector

The SMTP connector enables communication between the Upland AccuRoute Server and a SMTP mail server. With the SMTP connector installed, users can send and receive messages using network scanning devices, End User Interface or any SMTP email client program. The SMTP connector is used as a standardized approach in mail communication which eliminates the need for additional preparatory interfaces.

In addition, Fax users can submit outbound messages to the server using their email client application. (The users can attach a control file to the email message. The server uses the instructions in the control file to process the message and deliver it to its final destination.)

Note: Users must send their message using a qualified SMTP address format. For instructions, see SMTP connector one-off address format.

The SMTP connector also can be configured for DID lookups. This setting identifies information about the intended recipient for inbound faxes and retrieves and applies sender information on a cover page for an outbound message.
