About XeroxScan Connector Network Scanning Templates
If you choose to set up the XeroxScan connector using a network scanning template on your Xerox MFD, you must create at least one network scanning template using CentreWare Scan Services or the web-based administrative application for your Xerox MFD. For detailed instructions on creating a network scanning template, consult the Xerox documentation for the MFD.

Creating a Fax/Xerox network scanning template
Recommended settings
These settings are recommended for Fax.

Document Format=TIFF
-
Resolution=200X200
-
Type=Normal
-
Color= Black and white
Additionally, the file destination should be configured for the repository that you have created for the XeroxScan connector.
Metadata fields
Upland AccuRoute requires a metadata field, also called a document management field in the Xerox documentation. When you add a metadata field to a Xerox network scanning template, you must specify the field name and provide a label for the field. (The label becomes the prompt that the user sees on the Xerox LCD panel.) Additionally, you can specify a default value for a metadata field, but this is optional. For more information on creating network scanning templates, refer to the documentation for your Xerox MFD.
-
Required field: FaxNumber
The label for this field should prompt the user to provide the destination for the fax. The Xerox MFD populates the Fax Number field in the network scanning template file and sends this file to the fax repository with the scanned document. The XeroxScan connector interprets the data supplied by the user.
If you selected a special data format in the XeroxScan connector that includes a billing code or an e-code, you should create an appropriate label for this field so that the Xerox MFD prompts the user to provide the required information in the correct format. For example, if the data format for the fax destination in the XeroxScan connector is FAX*ECODE, the user needs to type the fax number, *, and a DID number: 6038901957*1465
If the data format in the XeroxScan connector does not include a billing code or an e-code, then no special instructions are required. The user should be prompted to provide a fax number only. -
Optional field: EmailAddress
Upland AccuRoute recommends that you include this field in the network scanning template if users do not log on to the Xerox MFD. When the user provides an e-mail address, the XeroxScan connector uses this e-mail address to send a delivery confirmation message if required.
If you do not include this metadata field in the network scanning template, make sure that the XeroxScan connector can obtain the user's e-mail address from another source.
