About WebApps Queue Redaction

The Upland AccuRoute Server and WebApps Queue unite in data loss protection and prevention (DLP) with redaction. The use of redaction helps protect the privacy of personal information, minimizes the risk of data breaches, and ensures compliance according to your company’s data protection regulations and policies. With redaction designated Queue users can obscure content from any document for legal and security purposes.

Before you begin

The Redact action is a default setting included in the Queue configuration.

Note: Only current Queue Administrators must add the Redact action if upgrading to the latest version. Adding the Redact action is not required for new Queue installations in this and future releases.

You can use profiles to add the Redaction action to the WebApps Queue application.

To add the Redact action

1. Start the Server Administrator.

2. Select Configuration > WebApps.

3. Select the appropriate profile, for example, Default. The Profile Properties dialog box appears.

4. Select Applications.

5. Select the Queue application. The Queue Application Properties dialog box appears.

6. Select Actions.

7. Select Add.

8. Select Redact. The Redact Action Properties dialog box appears.

9. Select OK.

10. Select OK on the Queue Application Properties dialog box.

11. Select OK on the Profile Properties dialog box.

12. Select OK to create the Queue rule.

 

Queue users can use the Redact button to obscure content in a document.

To redact

  1. Open WebApps from the browser.

  2. Select Queue.

  3. Select a new item. The document appears in the Preview pane.

  4. Select the Redact button.

  1. Press and drag the Crosshair (+ ) icon to select the appropriate content for redaction.

  1. Select Apply to apply the redaction to the document. The "Options being applied, please wait" message appears. The selected content is redacted.

Note: Redacted content is permanent and cannot be moved, resized, or canceled.

 

Queue users can also move, resize, and cancel any content selected before redaction is applied.

  • Use the Move icon to move the Redaction box to another location in the document.

  • Use the Resize icon to resize the Redaction box.

  • Use the Close icon or Cancel button at the bottom of the Preview pane to cancel any content selected for redaction and start over if necessary.
