Previewing the Top Line

You can preview the top line of a fax without having to send an actual fax. When the top line data string includes variables, such as the recipient name and sender name, the preview shows the names of the variables—not the actual data. When you send a fax, the server replaces these variables with actual data.

For example, if your top line data string is:

^DATE^+^TIME^ To:+^RECIPIENT^ From:+^SENDER^+ Upland AccuRoute +^IDENTITY^ Page:+^PAGE^

then the preview will look similar to:

To preview the top line

Start the Server Administrator.
Expand the Server Administrator tree.
Double-click Connectors. The connectors are listed in the details pane.
Double-click Telco Connector to open the Properties dialog box.
Click Top Line to open the Top Line dialog box.
Click Preview to view the top line as it will appear in a fax. The Preview dialog box appears.
Click Dismiss to close.
