Text Preference Field

Although the majority of email clients support HTML, in some cases your contacts may prefer or require emails in Text format only. If you know particular contacts cannot receive both the HTML and Text parts of your email, it is possible to send just the Text part to those contacts, without having to divide your list.

You will need to include a text preference field in your core or data table, with the relevant contact records containing the value text, t, plain, or plaintext.

This means that when a text preference field is selected in campaign options, Adestra will only send the Text version of the email to contacts with one of these values. You may have collected this information on sign up, or it is possible to add the value manually using the Contact Management interface.

To apply a text preference field, in the 'Content' section of the Campaign Options, click the 'Select Field' button, which will display the field selector for you to select the text preference field from the relevant core or data table.

Note: If a campaign is launched without a Text part, all contacts will receive the HTML version, regardless of the text preference.
