Improving the Plan

Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Describe how the reviewers offer recommendations to improve the plan
  • Review the summary of the Test & Improve questions, vulnerabilities, and recommendations captured during the meeting
  • End a Test & Improve
  • Add an action on the Summary page for a vulnerability or recommendation shared during a Test & Improve

Sharing Recommendations

After the vulnerabilities suggested by the reviewers have been discussed, Leonard clicks the Recommendations chevron to advance the Test & Improve onto the third and final stage.

Lynn and the reviewers have now reached the Improve the Plan phase of the Test & Improve meeting.

Leonard directs the reviewers to share in the feed any recommendations they have that will address the vulnerabilities. Each reviewer should try to suggest a recommendation for every vulnerability they identified.

While reviewers are posting their recommendations, Lynn jots down any thoughts she has that were inspired by the questions and vulnerabilities.

Leonard and Lynn then prioritize the vulnerabilities of most concern and discuss the recommendations relating to these with the reviewers.

A reviewer can like a recommendation someone else has posted in the feed. This is a good way for Lynn to see which recommendations the reviewers valued most.

After the Meeting

When everyone's recommendations have been discussed, the Test & Improve is considered complete. Lynn and Leonard thank the reviewers for their input and suggestions, and they end the meeting.

The reviewers can click Leave Review.

Lynn and Leonard stay in the Test & Improve to conduct a debrief.

Lynn clicks the Summary chevron. This opens the summary page, where all the questions, vulnerabilities, and recommendations are collated onto a single page. Lynn and Leonard discuss the outcomes of the meeting.

During the course of the discussion, Lynn can continue to create actions to follow up on any of the vulnerabilities and recommendations.

These actions are added to the opportunity's Actions List.

When Lynn is done, she clicks End as Presenter.

(Anyone with access to the opportunity is free to enter the Test & Improve after the meeting has ended and to post more contributions to the feed. This is useful when someone had to leave the meeting early and wants to provide their ideas afterwards.)

Try It Yourself

During the Improve the Plan phase, reviewers can make recommendations for how to address the vulnerabilities they identified in the opportunity. As presenter, you can:

  • Discuss these recommendations with the reviewers
  • Create actions to follow up on recommendations
  • Switch to the summary page when the reviewers have left, and debrief with the facilitator/coach on the outcomes of the meeting
