Install and configure the Kaltura connector

Use the following instructions to set up and configure your Kaltura connector.

Installing the Kaltura connector

The Kaltura connector can be installed with the same steps as other web-service connectors. For more information, see How to Install and Configure Your Connector.

  1. In the Upland Right Answers Portal, search for "Kaltura", click on the latest release product link, and download the connector .zip file.

  2. Right-click the downloaded .zip file, click Properties > Unblock > Apply > OK.

  3. Run the installer package and follow the instructions in the installation wizard.

  4. Once complete, you will see the connector listed under the Sites folder is IIS.

Configuring the Kaltura connector general settings

After setting up your connector in Connectivity Hub, you can specify the general settings for your Kaltura connection Connection defines the how Connectivity Hub connects to your Source System (which contains your documents, graphics, etc.,). Your Connection includes identifying elements such as: URL of the BA Insight web service connector you are using, (File Share connector, SharePoint Online connector, etc.), Authentication mode, User Accounts and Credentials, Database information (for database connectors).

  1. In Connectivity Hub, click Connections.

  2. Click the Kaltura connection from the list of connections. If you do not see a Kaltura connection, you must first set one up.

  3. On the Edit Web Service Connection page, click the General Settings tab.

  4. In the Max concurrent requests field, specify the number of parallel requests that can be made to Kaltura.

  5. In the Service URL field, Specify the root URL that the Kaltura web service API will use. This setting has a default value, which usually does not need to be changed.

  6. In the Partner Id field, specify the Partner ID of your Kaltura instance. This ID can be found in the Kaltura Management Console on the Settings/Integration tab, under the Account Info section.

  7. In the Administration Secret field, specify the administration secret key of your Kaltura instance. This key can be found in the Kaltura Management Console on the Settings/Integration tab, under the Account Info section.

Configuring the Kaltura connector content filters

In the content filters section, you can specify the content types and specific content IDs that you want to index.

  1. On the Edit Web Service Connection page, click the Content Filters tab.

  2. In the Content types field, select the types of content that you want to include in crawl jobs. The possible selections include:

    • Include all: Include all content types in crawl jobs

    • Exclude the following: Exclude specific content types from crawl jobs

    • Include only the following: Include specific content types from crawl jobs

  3. After making a content type selection, specify the content types you want to include or exclude in the right panel.

  4. In the Category Filter field, specify the Kaltura items that you want to crawl for by entering their category or channel ID in the text box. Use a comma to separate the IDs using a comma. For example, a category filter would look like the following: 12345678,12345679,12345680
