Policies Overview
Policies are used to distribute permissions to users in Eclipse PPM. Administrators and Project Owners can use them to determine which users will receive which permissions on Projects and the application as a whole.
Eclipse PPM permissions are essentially determined by Polices. An Eclipse PPM Policy is a custom set of permissions that can be selected by checking boxes.
Tip: Click directly on any permission to see a quick description of its benefits:
Users and User Groups can be added to Policies as members. When this occurs, the users will receive all of the permissions selected on the Policy. Users who are added to the User Group after it is added to a policy will also receive the permissions.
There are different types of Policies available in Eclipse PPM. Application Policies determine how members will be able to interact with the Eclipse PPM as a whole. Project Policies determine how users will be able to interact with specific Projects, and Program Policies determine how users will be able to interact with specific Programs.
