Create Assignment Notifications

Assignment Notifications will let users know when they have been assigned to different work items in Eclipse PPM. The Assignment Notifications page allows administrators to define the Assignment Notifications of certain users in Eclipse PPM as well as the default Assignment Notifications for new users.

 

Before You Start: Only Eclipse PPM administrators can access the Assignment Notifications page. If you are not an administrator, contact one with any questions you might have about these notifications.

To define Assignment Notifications for certain users:

  1. Select the Administration icon from the Icon bar to open up the Administration page.

  2. Select Assignment Notifications from the "Settings Manager" menu:

  3. Type the name of a Resource into the "Apply 'Assignment Notifications' Settings" text box and select it from the drop-down menu

    OR

    Click on the text box and select one of the Resource Filters from the drop-down menu:

    Note: Your selected Resources will appear in the grid below. Select the Delete button next to a Resource to exclude it from receiving the new settings.

  4. Repeat Step 3 until the grid contains all of the Resources that will receive the new settings.

  5. Select the checkboxes of the work items that your selected Resources will receive email notifications from once they are assigned to them:

    Tip: Select the Load Defaults button to automatically select the default checkboxes (even unsaved defaults that are currently in the "Default Settings" window). This is useful for returning any Resources to the default settings.

  6. Select the Apply button at the top of the "Apply 'Assignment Notifications' Settings" window to give the selected Resources the new Assignment Notifications.

After clicking Apply, each Resource in the grid will receive email notifications when they are assigned to the selected work items.

 

To define the default Assignment Notifications for new users:

  1. Select the Administration icon from the Icon bar to open up the Administration page.

  2. Select Assignment Notifications from the "Settings Manager" menu:

  3. Select the "Default Settings" checkboxes of the work items that you would like new users to receive Assignment Notifications for by default:

    Note: Be careful not to confuse these checkboxes with the checkboxes from the "Apply 'Assignment Notifications' Settings" window.

  4. Select the Save button at the top of the "Default Settings" window to save your new defaults.

After clicking Save, new users will automatically receive notifications when they are assigned to the selected work items.
