Uploading and Managing Custom Report Templates

The Report Template feature allows Eclipse users to create custom report templates using MS Excel. Once a Report Template has been created, it can be uploaded to Eclipse PPM in order to run reports that include a custom set of fields.

Note: Before uploading a Report Template to Eclipse PPM, you will need to create an MS Excel Report Template file. See Creating a Report Template for more information.

To upload a new Report Template:

  1. Click the Reports icon from the Navigation Menu to view the Reports page.
  1. Open the New Report drop-down menu:


  2. Select one of the report types under "Report Template":

  1. Type in a name for your report in the Report Name field:

  2. Use the "Share this Report Template with:" drop-down menu to determine who will have access to your Report Template:

    • Only Me: The Report Template will be private and only available to the creator.

    • All Users: The Report Template will be public and available to all Eclipse PPM users.

    • Specific users or groups: The Report Template will only be available to a specific list of users or groups. Selecting this option will open up a textbox that allows users to type in specific users or user groups that will be given access to it:

  3. Select the Choose File button to browse your computer for the MS Excel Report Template file.

    Note: If you do not have file saved, see Creating a Report Template.

  4. Select the Save button.

After selecting Save, the Report Template will be saved to the "Custom Reports" window on the Reports page.

 

To edit a Report Template:

  1. Click the Reports icon from the Navigation Menu to view the Reports page.
  1. Click the drop-down arrow next to the Report Template you would like to edit:


  2. Select Edit.
  1. (Optional) Edit the name of the report in the Report Name field:

  2. (Optional) Edit the sharing settings using the "Share this Report Template with:" drop-down menu:

    • Only Me: The Report Template will be private and only available to the creator.
    • All Users: The Report Template will be public and available to all Eclipse PPM users.

    • Specific users or groups: The Report Template will only be available to a specific list of users or groups. Selecting this option will open up a textbox that allows users to type in specific users or user groups that will be given access to it:

  3. (Optional) Click the Choose File button to browse your computer for a new report template file.
  4. Select the Save button.

After clicking Save, your changes to the Report Template will be finalized.

 

To delete a Report Template:

Note: Once a template is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

  1. Click the Reports icon from the Navigation Menu to view the Reports page.
  1. Click the drop-down arrow next to the Report Template you would like to delete:

  2. Select Delete.
  1. Click Yes to confirm deleting the template.

After clicking Yes, the Report Template will be deleted.

 

To download a Report Template:

  1. Click the Reports icon from the Navigation Menu to view the Reports page.
  1. Click the drop-down arrow next to the template you would like to download:

  2. Select Download Template.

After clicking Download Template, the template file will begin downloading onto your computer.
