Project Settings - Search Tab

Enable Full Text Search: Allows you to search for full text OCR information within documents from the Search page. Documents need to be OCR'd to use full text search.

Display File Change Date: Displays the date and time of the last update for each file on the Search Results page. If a file has not been edited within FileBound, the date and time on which the file was created are displayed.

Enable Multi Key Search: Allows you to perform search based on multiple values. The search is performed on the key field of a project and is commonly used with physical file tracking projects.

Include <Related Project Name> Fields on Search Screen: For projects where a relationship has been established, displays the index fields from that project in the Search Screen Settings section.

Default Search Format: Allows you to select a default search option for the Search page. The default behavior can be overridden on the Search Page using the Options link or the wildcard characters. The following options are available: 

  • Default: The default search behavior, which searches using a wildcard at the end of the text. Search Text + “%”

  • Exact Match: Returns results that match the search query exactly. Search Text + “~”

  • Contains: Returns results that contain the search query anywhere in the field. %” + Search Text + “%”

Search Screen Settings

You can configure the Search page to include or exclude fields that are included for search parameters. You can move fields that are less used for searches to the Advanced Search Options section. According to preference of the users, you can rearrange the fields for easy access.

Note: Index fields from related projects cannot be selected for the Advanced Search.

Search Portal Settings

The Search Portal Settings section, is displayed only if the project is selected in the Search Portal section of the Main Options - Portals Tab. See Search Portal for more information.

Security Mode: If you want to restrict the end users from performing project search on the portal, select a security mode from the list. The following security modes are available:

  • Public: All users outside of FileBound can access the Search Portal.
  • Secure by Access Code: Only users who have an access code can access the Search Portal.
  • Secure by Application Login: Only users with a FileBound username and password can access the Search Portal.
