Installing Digital Sender Service

You can install the Digital Sender service by using the HP Digital Sender Setup CD.

To install the Digital Sender service

  1. Log on to the server. Insert the setup CD for the HP Digital Sender into the CD-ROM drive. The installation initializes and shows the Choose Setup Language page. The default is English.

  2. Click OK. The InstallShield Wizard shows the Welcome page.

  3. Read the instructions. Click Next. The HP Digital Sender 9100C Software page opens.

  4. Select Software Installations. Click Next. The Software Installations page opens.

  5. Select Administrator Software Setup. Click Next. The Administrator Software Setup page opens.

  6. Select DS Service.

  7. Optionally, to change the destination folder, enter the new location for the destination folder.

  8. Click OK, then click Next. The installation begins and the Service Software Requirements page opens.

  9. Verify the list of installation requirements. Click Yes to begin the DS Service installation. The Digital Sender Service page opens.

  10. In the Username text box, enter the user name for the login account associated with the DS Service.

  11. In the Password and Confirm Password text boxes, enter the password associated with the username.

  12. Click Next. The following question appears: On Windows NT, you can add Fax Service Functionality. Do you want to add this functionality?

  13. Click Yes. The HP Digital Sender Service page displays a list of LAN/FAX vendors.

  14. Select Omtool as the LAN/FAX vendor.

  15. Enter the path to the HPFSCAN director.

  16. Click OK, then Next. A warning message appears.

  17. Carefully read the warning about read and write access permissions for the user associated with the HP Digital Sender Service. If necessary, check the permissions for this user.

  18. Click OK. The Setup Complete page opens.

  19. Clear View the ReadMe file now and Register now options.

  20. Click Next.

  21. Select Yes, I want to restart my computer now.

  22. Click Finish. The system reboots and completes the process.
