Set Maximum Leave Time Hours for a User

As part of creating and managing a user's profile, any applicable leave time must be defined.

As an example, you can override the leave time processing rules that can be defined by setting a limit to the allowable maximum number of leave time hours that a user can enter for a given period or day.

This article details how to set this maximum number of hours that a user can enter for a leave time for a given period or day.

Note: The pages shown in this article may differ from yours as your organization may have required a different set up altogether or it may be due to different rights granted to you.

  1. From the Icon Bar click Setup .
  2. From the Navigation Menu click Organization.
  3. From the available options select Users.
  4. Upon the Users list page displaying, click the name of the User you wish to edit, to access the User Edit page.

    Tip: You may wish to narrow your Users list so that you retrieve just the right amount of information you need. To do so you can perform a search. Select a search criterion from the list of available search criteria and then enter a corresponding value in the Search box. Click the Search icon to narrow down the Users list.   5. Upon the User Edit page displaying, expand the Entry Options menu item.
  6. From the available options, click Leave Time.
  7. From the Leave Time list page, click the name of the required leave time.
  8. Upon the Leave Time Rule Setup page displaying:
    1. Click the Usage Rules tab.
    2. Select the Override Settings option.
    3. Within the Maximum Usage frame, select the Limit maximum hour(s) that can be used per period and/or Limit maximum hour(s) that can be used per day option(s).
    4. Enter the corresponding maximum number of hour(s).

      Click Usage Rules

    5. Click Save and then Back to save your changes and return to the previous page.
  9. View the impact as the user making an entry on their timesheet: If the user attempts to enter hours on their timesheet, against the leave time in question, that is above the maximum allowable for the period or for the day, a message will display to indicate as such.
