Applying a Filter to the Assign Tasks list

Run-time Filter conditions can be applied to the Assign Tasks list allowing you to narrow your list so that you retrieve just the right amount of information needed.

This article details how to apply an on-page Filter on the Assign Tasks page.

Note: To allow Users access to the new and improved My Timesheet in your Sandbox/Implementation/production environments, you must add them to the New Timesheet list. For further details refer to Adding users to the New Timesheet list. If you prefer, you can choose to enforce the use of New Timesheet for all Users at the global level.

  1. Access My Timesheet by doing either a or b:

    1. Click the Enter time link from the Home page.
    2. From the Icon Bar click Entries .
      From the Navigation Menu click My Timesheet.
  2. Navigate to the Period you wish to enter Time for by following one of these steps:
    1. Click the Calendar button and select the appropriate period.
    2. Click the Next/Previous buttons to navigate to next/previous Period.
    3. Click Today to navigate to current Period.

  3. Click the Timesheet context menu button.
  4. From the available options click Assign Tasks.
  5. Click the Filter button to access the Filters dialog box.
  6. From the Filters dialog box. Click the New button located on the table header. Note that a new line item will be added to the table.
  7. From the Field Name selection box select one of the following options: Client Id, Client Name, Portfolio Id, Portfolio Name, Project End, Project Id, Project Name, Project Priority, Project Start, Project State Name and Work Type.
  8. Depending on your chosen Field in step 8 above, the Conditions may vary and will have one of the following options:
    1. In and Not In
    2. =, <>, Like, Not Like, In and Not In
    3. =, <>, >=, <=, <, >, Between and Not Between
  9. The Value 1 and Value 2 options are dependent on the chosen Field and Conditions. You may have to either:
    1. Click the ellipsis button and select the Value from a list
      Or
    2. Enter a value for Value 1/Value 2.
  10. For the purpose of this article we are going to choose the Client Name Field, select the In Condition and choose a Client from the Client List.
  11. Click Save.

  12. You can either add a nested Filter which will allow you to Combine with and And/Or condition.
  13. Or create another Filter by following the Steps 6-11 above.
  14. Click Close to return to the Assign Tasks Page.
  15. View filtered Assign Tasks page

    Note: The blue Filter indicates that a Filter is applied.
