Verify your email address

Qvidian has implemented a process to validate user email addresses.

Note: The "EmailVerificationMaxCodeEntryAttempts" global setting specifies the number of attempts (minimum of 3, maximum of 10) a user is allowed to enter verification codes per hour. Once exceeded, the user will be blocked for up to 1 hour.

Verify email on login

The "Verify Email Address" prompt will appear each time an unvalidated user logs into Qvidian until their email address has been verified. Select one of the following options on the "Verify Email Address" dialog: 

  • Skip For Now: Click to verify at a later time using the user menu. The email verification prompt will continue to appear at log in until the email is verified.
  • Send Verification Code: Click to send the 6-digit code to the unverified email address. Once the verification code has been sent, enter the 6-digit code into the Verification Code field and click Verify. If you do not receive the code, click Resend Code.

Note: The email validation will be triggered when a user's email address changes.

Verify email via user menu

An AlertAlert icon icon will appear in the header Profile menu until the unvalidated email address has been verified.

  1. Click the Profile menu Profile menu with email verification alert icon.
  2. Select Verify Email Address from the dropdown menu. A 6-digit code will be sent to the unverified email address.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code into the Verification Code field and click Verify on the "Enter Verification Code" dialog. If you do not receive the code, click Resend Code.

Note: Once validated, the "Verify Email Address" prompt and Profile menu alert icon will no longer be displayed.

Verify email via user properties

An "Alert icon Email address unverified" alert will appear next to the Email field within the User Properties for any user with an unvalidated email.

  1. Go to Administration > Users & Roles > Users.
  2. Use one of the following methods to edit a user: 
    • Hover over the user you would like to edit and click the Edit Edit icon icon. The "User Properties" page displays.
    • Select the checkbox of the desired user and click the Edit Edit icon icon at the top of the grid. The "User Properties" page displays.
    • Double-click the row of the desired user. The "User Properties" page displays.
  3. Click the Send Verification Email button next to the Email field. A 6-digit code will be sent to the unverified email address.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code into the Verification Code field and click Verify on the "Enter Verification Code" dialog. If you do not receive the code, click Resend Code.

Note: Once validated, the "Alert icon Email address unverified" alert will no longer be displayed on the User Properties page.
