What are required to configure the Salesforce environment?
The configuring of the Salesforce (SFDC) environment requires (see the note below for more information):
- Adding the field TenroxUniqueID on the SFDC Accounts, Opportunities, and Users page layouts
- Adding the field Import to Tenrox on the SFDC Users page layout
The TenroxUniqueID allows Tenrox users to change the name of a client, project, user, etc., without affecting Tenrox's ability to identify each of these objects. In any integration, it is helpful for each system to keep track of the Unique ID of each object that is shared between the two systems. This TenroxUniqueID field is Tenrox's way to ensure that Tenrox and Salesforce agree on an identifier for each object.
When an SFDC account, opportunity or user is sent to Tenrox, the TenroxUniqueID field is automatically populated in SFDC. Therefore, there is no need to manually enter anything in the field. This indicates, to any SFDC user, that this object is integrated with Tenrox.
The Import to Tenrox is an option only on the SFDC User, that must be selected to indicate a User who is to be imported as a User in Tenrox.
