About Custom Views
A custom view is a specialized messages view based on search filters created and selected by an Administrator. You can create custom views for messages processed by the
- Job ID
- Originator/Sender
- Destination
- Message Status
- Date
- Predefined Search Filters
- Predefined System and User Property Strings
More criteria is available based on the criteria listed above.
In addition, you create custom views by using the Messages node on the Server Administrator tree. A new folder with a custom view name is created in the Messages folder when you save a custom view. You can also remove custom views from the Messages folder when they become obsolete and are no longer applicable.
Note: For Custom Views Users: Search filters is an enhancement to its Custom Views predecessor and used to create custom views.

Modify custom view properties (search filters)
You can modify custom view properties by using the Search Filters dialog box.
To modify custom view properties
- Start the Server Administrator.
- Expand the Configuration node and select Search Filters. The Search Filters details pane appears.
- Right-click the custom view you want to modify. The Search Filters short-cut menu appears.
- Select Properties. The Search Filter dialog box appears.
- Modify the search filters.
- Click Go and test the results.
- Click Save or Save As to modify the name of the view, if necessary.
- If Save As was selected, name the modified custom view.
- If Save As was selected, click Save.
- Click Close (x).

Export custom views
You can export custom views to a text (comma delimited) *.CSV file by using Messages > Export. Exporting a custom view is beneficial for setting up records and making them accessible to any application that imports comma-delimited values (like Microsoft Excel).
To export custom view
- Expand the Messages node and right-click the custom view you want to export. The Messages short-cut menu appears.
- Right-click Export.
- Browse and select where you want to save the export file.
- In the File name box, name the export file.
- Click Save.
