About FaxCenter Routing Rules

In order to route inbound faxes to FaxCenter users, you must create at least one routing rule specifying the kind of faxes that should be routed to FaxCenter and the users who can route the fax from FaxCenter. You can route faxes to a few or all FaxCenter users.

Note: You must configure permissions of registered users before they can route FaxCenter faxes. For instructions on how to configure permissions, see Modifying user permissions for FaxCenter.

Creating FaxCenter Routing Rule

You can create an inbound routing rule for FaxCenter. The routing rule determines which messages are routed to FaxCenter by the AccuRoute Server. Once the messages are routed to FaxCenter, the FaxCenter users review each message. They decide on the intended recipient and routes the messages accordingly.

To create an inbound routing rule for FaxCenter

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. Expand the Server Administrator tree, if necessary.

  3. Expand Rules.

  4. Right-click Inbound. Select New > Rule. The Specify the Criteria for this Rule dialog box appears.

  5. Click Add. Select a criteria from the options in the Add Rule Criteria dialog box .

  6. Click Next.

  7. Specify the parameters for the criteria.

  8. Click Finish. Click Next. The Specify the Actions to take for this Rule dialog box appears.

  11. Select the check box beside FaxCenterUser if you want to route inbound messages matching the rule to a particular user. Select the fax user from the drop down list. If you do not select this option, inbound messages matching the rule are routed to all FaxCenter users.

  12. In the Expiration Time spin box, enter the number of hours a message should stay in the FaxCenter, before expiring.

If a message is not routed to the intended recipient within the time you specify here, the messages expires. The AccuRoute Server fails the message, moves it from FaxCenter and moves it to the History folder.

  13. If you have integration with a DMS,  click DMS. The DMS Rule Properties dialog box appears.

  14. Configure the DMS properties as needed.

  15. Click OK to return to the create routing rule wizard.

  16. Click Finish. Click Next.
