Cover Page Applications
Cover pages can be used with the following mail connectors.
-
Exchange
-
Filescan
-
Notes
-
SMTP
Exchange
For messages and faxes that go to the server via the Exchange connector, cover pages are created from cover page template files. The cover page template files are stored in: ...\Upland AccuRoute\AccuRoute\Languages\ENU\Coverpages
You must add these template file to the public folder profiles. Or you can send a list of the cover page template file to users to add to their local profiles. This enables Microsoft Outlook users to choose cover pages to send with messages and faxes.
You can also define default cover pages in the user, connector, or server profiles. The default cover pages in profiles are used when users send one-off messages and faxes from Outlook.
Filescan
For messages and faxes that go to the server via the Filescan connector, cover pages are created with information from control files.
The control file should be stored in the Filescan folder. When someone sends a fax using the Filescan connector, the server uses the control file to populate the fields on the cover page and to gather instructions on processing the fax.
Notes
For messages and faxes that go to the server via the Notes connector, cover pages are created from cover page template files. These are stored in: ...\Upland AccuRoute\AccuRoute\Languages\ENU\Coverpages
Add these templates to the administrator-managed group profiles. Or you can send a list of the cover page template file names to users to add to their user-managed local profiles. This enables Notes users to choose cover pages to send with messages and faxes.
You can also define default cover pages in the connector or server profile. The default cover pages in profiles are used when users send one-off faxes from Notes.
SMTP
For messages and faxes that go to the server via the SMTP connector, cover pages are created from standard cover page template. The information that replaces the variables in the template file comes from a control file. When a message or fax is sent, the control file is included as an attachment to the message. The server removes the control file before sending the message, and uses the information in the control file to fill out the cover page and to set options for the message.
There are two ways you can configure the use of control files and template files by users.
-
Create and distribute control files to users - Create control files for users and distribute them with information about the variables they can or should modify when they send messages. For example, changing the recipient name and fax number.
-
Allow users to create their own control files - See Sending SMTP Connector Outbound Messages for more information.
Note: Important! Be sure to make the names of the cover page template files available to the users, especially if there is more than one cover page template file from which users can choose when sending a message.
