Detecting Remote Modem Server Channels

You can detect channels on a remote modem server by using the Server Administrator > Connectors node.

To detect channels on a remote modem server

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree.

  3. Double-click Connectors. The connectors are listed in the details pane.

  4. Double-click Telco Connector to open the Properties dialog box.

  5. Click Channels to open the Channels dialog box.

  6. Click Detect Channels. The Detect Channels dialog box appears.

  7. In the Modem Server Address box, enter the machine name of the IP address of the system where the modem server is located.

  8. Click Detect Now. The Telco connector lists the channels it can detect on the Remote Modem Server.

  9. Click OK to close the Telco Properties dialog box.

After the Telco connector detects the fax board channels on the Modem Server, each channel is configured for both sending and receiving faxes. You can change this setting, or configure other settings associated with each channel. For instructions, see Configuring receiving properties of a channel and Configuring sending properties of a channel.

Note: Important! When Telco connectors are located in different servers but share the channels (for example, Channel 0 is detected in the remote server and channel 1 is detected in the local server of the same fax board), the shared folders must be on the same computer, and both Telco connectors must point to the same Telco share.
