GhostScript Parameters

GhostScript parameters are used to alter the defaults in a conversion. This feature allows fine tuning of the conversion process performed by GhostScript.

GhostScript System Job Properties

  • GSResolution - Allows specifying the GhostScript resolution parameter to use

  • GSOutputDevice - Allows specifying the GhostScript output device parameter to use

  • GSAdditionalParams - Allows specifying other GhostScript parameters

Applying GhostScript parameters

There are various methods to apply GhostScript parameters to a job. Some of the methods are listed below.

  • By adding the parameters to a specific rule

  • By configuring parameters as prompts and sending jobs using AccuRoute Desktop

  • By configuring parameters as prompts and sending jobs using WebApps client

  • By using a Control File to specify the parameters

  • Send jobs using Scan to Folder button using Device

For example, you can configure the GhostScript parameters to generate a 24bit color TIF in a specific rule.

Applying GSOutputDevice parameter in a specific rule

To apply the GSOutput Device parameter

  1. Start the Message Server Administrator.

  2. Navigate to RuleSets node > Default.

  3. Select the rule Deliver all Emails via SMTP. The Rule Properties window appears.

  4. Select the Actions tab and navigate to Actions > Route to Connector.

  5. Select Start Workflow > Properties tab. The Action  Properties window appears.

  6. Navigate to the Job Properties tab and click Add to set the Job Property.

  7. Specify the property GSOutputDevice and value as tiff24nc

  8. Click OK to save the changes to the action.

  9. Select the Deliver action and click Properties.The Action Properties window appears.

  10. Select TIFF (Image) as the format.

  11. Deselect .Allow sender to override Format.

  12. Click OK to save the changes to the action.

  13. Click OK to save the changes to the rule.

Testing the GSOutputDevice parameter

Send a test message using the Message Server Administrator.

To test the GSOutputDevice parameter

  1. Start the Message Server Administrator.

  2. Navigate to Messages node and select New > Test Message. The Test Message window appears.

  3. Specify the Sender Email, Recipients, Subject, Comments, and Attachments.

  4. Click Deliver.The job is processed and delivered to the destination.

  5. Verify the delivered document is a 24bit color TIF file.
