Using Upland Credential Manager

This is an On Demand feature. If you would like more information about this feature, contact your customer success manager.

Upland Credential Manager (UCM) allows you to use single sign-on for access to Adestra and other Upland Software, Inc products. It can be used as a standalone authentication mechanism or as a gateway to another SSO provider.

To connect your provider to UCM, you will need to contact UCM support with details of:

  • The implementation provider and SSO connection type, e.g. SAML.

  • Certificates, URLs and parameters to be added into Auth0.

In return credentials from UCM will be given back to add into your identity provider.

When configured, you will be able to set UCM authentication for your users.

Note: multiple users tied to one email address is not possible with UCM. Each user will need to use the email address associated with the email they use to login to their IDP.

Set up a new user for UCM authentication

  1. In the users menu, press the create new user button.

  2. Select the authenticate with UCM option for the user’s authentication method.

  3. Proceed with the steps for creating a new user, ensuring the email is the address they use to login to their IDP.

Note: you can ignore any steps in the new user process relating to password creation if using UCM.

Change existing users to UCM authentication

For assistance with migrating your existing users to UCM authentication, contact support.

Note: If you are migrating your existing users from the username/password authentication to UCM authentication you will first need to dedupe your users by email address as only one user record can have a given email assigned to UCM.
