SMS Report

Use the SMS report to track performance of SMS sent from an automation program.

The account SMS report provides you with:

To access the SMS report:

  1. Hover over the reports icon in your left navigation menu to expand your reports menu.

  2. Select SMS report from the list of options available to your account.

SMS statistics breakdown

The SMS report includes an overview displaying the following statistics:

  • Total - the total number of contacts in the launch list.

  • Attempted - the number of contacts where a launch was attempted.

  • Not attempted - the number of contacts where a launch was not attempted.

    Tip: select the why link to expand the field and view a breakdown of reasons a launch was not attempted.

  • Delivered - the number of SMS that have been successfully delivered to the contact.

  • Bounced - the number of SMS launches that did not reach the contact.

  • Pending - the number of SMS launches still awaiting confirmation of event.

  • Rejected - the number of launches rejected by the SMS vendor.

  • Unsubscribed - the number of contacts that unsubscribed from SMS launches.

Note: use the dropdown menu for statistics by SMS launches to select a time period for your summary, e.g. last 7 days.

Below the statistics breakdown are the report tabs where you can view summary tables of your SMS messages, SMS identities, and SMS launches.

Launch not attempted - reasons

Launches may not be attempted for some contacts for the following reasons:

  • Previously bounced - contacts that are considered a known bounce.
  • Previously unsubscribed - contacts who previously unsubscribed and have been automatically suppressed.
  • Undeliverable - contacts who could not be delivered to.
  • Suppressed frequency - contacts who have met the criteria for frequency suppression.
  • Suppressed limit - messages not sent as the monthly send limit has been exceeded.

SMS message

The message tab displays a list of the messages created and launched during the selected period, reporting on the:

  • Total number of messages sent.

  • Attempted and delivered launches.

  • Unsubscribes.

Select a message to view a summary report for that message. This summary report includes:

  • The name of the campaign.

  • The date created.

  • The content of the message.

  • A summary of the sends (attempted, delivered, etc.).

  • An SMS launches table specific to that message.

SMS identities

The identities tab displays the SMS Identities used and the number of launches using that identity for the selected time period.

The table also includes attempted and delivered launches, and the number of unsubscribes.

Select an identity to view a summary report for that identity. This summary report includes:

  • From and reply numbers.

  • Unsubscribe text and keyword.

  • A summary of the sends using that identity (attempted, delivered, etc.).

  • An SMS launches table specific to that message.

SMS launches

The launches tab displays a list of all the SMS launches that have occurred. It logs:

  • the SMS identity and message associated to the launch,

  • the launch date,

  • the number of contacts launched to,

  • and the attempted, delivered and unsubscribed totals.

In the Launch table:

  • Select a program ID to go to the SMS launch automation menu and view the completed contacts page for that program.

    Note: SMS launches prior to the 3.43 release, i.e. Feb-01-2023, will have a null value for the program ID.

  • Select an SMS from identity to view a report for that SMS identity.

  • Select an SMS message to view a report for that SMS message.

  • Select a launch date to view a summary for that launch ID.
