Configuring Adestra-Salesforce (2025) App Permissions

After installing the Adestra-Salesforce apps, configure the app permissions for OAuth and OpenID, remote site settings, and the system administrator profile.

With your app permissions set, Configure user settings in Salesforce.

OAuth and OpenID connect settings

  1. In the Salesforce Setup options, use the Quick Find search box to find and open the OAuth and OpenID Connect Settings.

  2. Ensure the sliders are set to on for the following:

    • Allow OAuth Username-Password Flows.

    • Allow OAuth User-Agent Flows.

    • Allow Authorization Code and Credentials Flows.

Remote site settings

  1. In the Salesforce Setup options, use the Quick Find search box to find and open the Remote Site Settings.

  2. Confirm that:

    • AE Middleware is listed in the remote sites,

    • That the associated URL is https://api.uplandconnectors.com, and

    • That the active status is checked.

System administrator profile

  1. In the Salesforce Setup options, use the Quick Find search box to find and open the Profiles menu.

  2. Locate and select the System Administrator profile.

  3. Set the External Credential Principal Access and Custom record type settings.

External credential principal access

  1. In the System Administrator profile page, select “Enabled External Credential Principal Access” and press the Edit button.

  2. Select “Common_Upland_API_Connector - Upland Connector” in the Available External Credential Principals column.

  3. Press the Add arrow button to move the connector to the Enabled External Credential Principals column.

  4. Press the Save button.

Custom record type settings

For event data to be successfully synchronized with Adestra:

  1. In the System Administrator profile page, search for “Custom record Type Settings”.

  2. Locate the Messages options under Custom Record Type Settings and press the Edit button.

  3. Select “Adestra” in the Available Record Types column.

  4. Press the Add arrow button to move the connector to the Selected Record Types column.

  5. Press the Save button.
