Creating a Simple Send Mailing

The simple send mailing provides a streamlined mailing creation process by including many of the mailing configurations within a simple send template. Content editors with only the simple send mailing enabled will see a simplified version of the creating a mailing interface.

To create a mail using the simple send process:

  1. Select a template from the dropdown menu.

  2. Give the mailing a title.

  3. If the template included a brand and list (or if only one brand or list is available) these will be displayed as read only details.

    If a brand was not specified, i.e. the template is intended for use across multiple brands, use the brand dropdown menu to select a brand.

    If a list was not specified, you will need to select one in the targeting tab after you press the create button.

    Note: if a list is specified by the template, the targeting tab will not be available when you press the create button.
  4. Press the create button to go to the simplified creation workflow.

Note: when cloning a simple send mailing, the simple send template ID will be copied from the original mailing to the new one.

Using the simplified creation workflow

When working with a simple send, the creation workflow will only include the content, schedule, and preview and send tabs by default.

  • If a brand is not added to the simple send template, the general tab will also be visible, allowing you to add a brand.

  • If a list is not added to the simple send template, the targeting tab will also be visible, allowing you to add a target list.

Tip: if your permissions include advanced mailing options, you will be able to switch form the simplified workflow to the standard workflow using the advanced mode button. However, if you switch to advanced mode, you cannot revert to the simplified workflow.

The content tab

In simple mode, the content tab will only include:

  • The subject line field,

  • The asset Library,

  • The html/text content window/editor, and

  • Test messages.

The schedule tab

In simple mode, the schedule tab will allow you to send immediately or set a future date and time for PostUp to send the mailing. If you need to set a future date/time:

  1. Select the at the following time option from the schedule tab.

  2. Use the calendar to define a date, e.g. Feb 08, 2023.

  3. Use the hour and minute sliders to select a time, e.g. 03:15 pm.

  4. Press the done button to confirm your settings.

  5. Press the apply changes button to save your changes.

The preview and send tab

Once you have created your content and set a time for PostUp to send the mailing, use the preview and send tab to review your mailing.

If there is an error in the mailing or template, the send/schedule mailing button will be unavailable. When all errors are corrected, press the send/schedule mailing button to instruct PostUp to send your mailing.
