Grant Security Access for REST API Use
The REST API requires a specific security permission at the Security Profile level. Granting this permission allows users to access and interact with the system programmatically using the REST API.
This article explains how to assign the security permission required at the Security Profile level to enable users to interact with the system via the REST API.

- From the Icon Bar click Setup

- From the Navigation Menu click Organization.
- From the menu click System.
- From the System page click the Security button to access the Security setup page.
- Click the expand button (
) located against a User Security Role Placeholder, if applicable to view the available Security Roles.
- Select a Security Profile.
- Upon the Security Profile page displaying, expand the Entry menu.
- From the available options select Other.
- Select the Y/N for the REST API Access component.
- Select Save.
- Once this right is granted, developers can proceed using REST API as required. It is based on industry standards, therefore developers should easily be able to understand the instructions through the REST API Help File.
